Creativity … a word that’s woven through the fabric of life. Ever fresh, always exciting!
The creativity I share here in this virtual space marries the technical and creative characteristics that define how I see the world. Right brain and left brain wrestling as one for simplicity in this creative and spiritual journey of life.
From my earliest memories, creativity has always been a constant and vital interweaving in the fabric of who I am. From dabbling in my mother’s art studio with a plethora of crafts and media to the workbench in my dad’s race shop where metal became thrilling ride, creativity was the under-appreciated constant. Like oxygen, it surrounded me from birth and I inhaled without thought of its preciousness.
My husband and I love to travel, see the beauty of God’s creation outside of our little corner of the world, make new friends, taste new foods and experience the normal hum of life from another vantage point. We love to sail away for a day or so on our 30+ year old sailboat, Miracle, but much of our ‘vacation time’ is usually spent on ‘mission’ - helping others in need, loving our neighbor. Each is a spiritual journey and I always come away changed. I share this journey through photos, links and stories in this blog.
Oh, and just to throw you a few curve balls, I love to grow my own vegetables in a backyard garden, wakeboard and skateboard :) (Yeh, say it. I’m too old. - but that’s part of the fun!), run 4 miles several times a week, have romantic candlelight dinners on a quilt by the water at sunset…and I’m a Jesus girl who helps lead contemporary worship every Sunday morning. Uniquely me.
These adventures and my love for design, photography, writing and technology have become a melting pot called Grace House Designs. Each jewelry design in the Grace House collection I create by hand…sculpting fine silver or gold, stringing stones and pearls, weaving fabrics and fibers, and incorporating new and vintage pieces found in far-flung markets and antique shops.
Grace House Designs is just another extension of my life’s goals to…live simply, love deeply, share creatively. If in the process you or someone you love receives a beautiful piece of jewelry that delights you every time you wear it, then we’ll both be blessed!
